shipping saga of my 61c

greetings,
finally arranged shipping of my "new" 61c. it was refurbed a little over two yrs ago and is beautiful.
arranging shipping was an ordeal! the big movers wanted between $875 and $1100. one wanted $1700 to bubble wrap and ship!
victor put me in touch with "erics shipping". they specialize in smaller moves of collectibles. they didnt know what a chambers was so i sent them a picture. $450 wrapped,delivered and insured!

My pleasure. I've been occupied with other things for awhile, so haven't been very active on the board. In six weeks time I am going to get Eric to deliver a vintage fridge from the very northern part of California all the way to Houston, TX. His quote for blanket wrap service and delivery was $400.

spoke to eric today, nice guy. his service isnt for the "i need it tomorrow" crowd but he's familiar with moving "unusual" items.
victor, tell me about the fridge, coil on top im guessing.
just looked at an old farm house property, there's 8 old 1950's fridges in the garage. owner wants them gone. i could get specs etc if you know anyone interested.

I'm most likely sticking this one in the living room as a soda fridge once I get the other one.

Tom, FYI, the refrigerators with the copper coils on top are usually GE monitor refrigerators from the 30s and early 40s.

hey victor,
ill drive out today and inventory the fridges. if i can figure out my digital camera ill send you some pics.
im in western kansas, phillipsburg. but i have family in corpus,houston and mcallen.
if any of the fridges are desirable i could have them moved to my place(only a few miles) until you can arrange shipping.
